The Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides a safe, child-friendly location for conducting forensic interviews and medical evaluations for abused children and offers families support and other resources to promote safety and healing.
Through the efforts of our Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, the Child Advocacy Center has established itself as an organization that can and does make a difference for children and families in our community.
We respect the courage it takes for a child to tell and nothing is more important for us than creating an environment that is safe and supportive. We understand that what we do matters.
We also recognize that we work as part of a team with law enforcement, Children Services, medical personnel, mental health providers, victim advocates and prosecutors. We strive to operate in a work environment that is marked by honest, responsible and open communication. As a team, our aim is to support each other in a very difficult job.

Of the Community, for the community: Our Story
In 1999, community professionals identified a need to coordinate local resources to improve the identification, investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse in Licking County.
As a result, the Child Advocacy Center of Licking County was established. With the support of Licking Memorial Health Systems, this facility provides a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary evaluation of children who are suspected victims of abuse and/or neglect.
When an allegation of abuse occurs today, a child is brought to our child-friendly facility. The child is greeted by a comforting space, a toy-filled reception area and professionals trained to work with the unique needs of each child.
We provide two critical investigation services ~ Forensic Interviews and Sexual Assault Forensic Exams.
